Betty Ann Mosley (nee Morton) was born September 2, 1938 to Arthur James Morton and Rachel Frances Morton (nee Dawson) in Columbus, Ohio. Betty graduated from East High School. She later attended Columbus State Community College where she enrolled in business classes to further her education. She was first married to James Ross and then Roger Mosley. She was blessed to have raised five children and two grandsons with great success. Her working career began at Grant Medical Center where she was employed as a tray line server. Betty went on to work at The Ohio State University Medical Center and later retired after twenty years of service as a food preparation technician and cook. It was well known by family and friends that Betty found great joy in making rolls, cakes, cobblers, or whatever sweet treat you desired; baking was Betty's true calling. Betty never met a stranger and showed unselfish love. She loved her family and church dearly. Having professed her faith at an early age, Betty was a saved woman who served the Lord until she died. On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the age of 78, Betty slipped away peacefully into the arms of her Lord while at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Denise Ann Shelton, brother William James Morton, granddaughter Michelle Katherine Ross, and daughter-in-law Queen Alahzar. Those who remain to cherish memories of Betty include her sons, Charles (Kathy) Ross, Michael K.ing Alahzar, and Daniel (Charlotte) Mosley; daughter Debra Mosley; brother Thomas (Rita) Morton; sisters, Julia (William) Caldwell and Barbara Morton; son-in-law William Shelton; grandchildren, Sergio Shelton, Jacob Shelton, Isaiah Shelton, Cherron (Shamelle) Banks, Myles Ross, Fatima Mosley, Jannety Mosley, Danyale Mosley, Daniel Mosley, Quanisee Barrow, Lazarus Barrow, and Ebony Hardison; six great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the caregivers and staffs of Riverside Methodist Hospital, OhioHealth Connection, Whetstone Assisted Living, as well as to Betty's faithful friends, Elva Knox, Doris Hagwood, Ann Brice, and Eloise Oyoo.
