Bruce Bunch

Bruce Eugene Bunch, age 76, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 5th, 2024. He was born on Sunday, July 13th, 1947, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Edward Bunch and Claudia Bunch.

Bruce served in the Army and worked in the field of education. He was a vendor for Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc for 35 years. Bruce had a passion for watching Afrocentric films and old TV shows from the 60's and 70's. He enjoyed making his own playlists and bringing social awareness through postings on Facebook.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Bunch, his mother, Claudia Long, his aunts Glenna Dyer, and brother-in-law John R. Compton Jr.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Compton Bunch (54 years), son Abdu Y. Bunch, daughter Jehan M. Bunch, daughter and son-in-law Jamila A (Dietrick) Brockett, grandchildren: Chloe Engram, Bryson Brockett, Brooke Brockett, sister Mary Francis Hill, sister-in-law Pamela Compton, nieces and nephews: Maren Hill Pope, Matthew Hill, Kendra (Iris) Compton, Shinda Compton, Dnaiel (Yvette) Compton, Todd (Gianina) Compton and a host of relatives and close friends.

Bruce will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his loved ones and friends. May he rest in peace.

A visitation will be held at Woodland Christian Church in Columbus, OH on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by an unstaffed memorial service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
