Charlotte Elaine Easterly was born to Dorothy Easterly and J.T. Corbett on May 20, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio. She departed this life suddenly at home on August 27, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by mother and father, who died tragically in a n automobile accident involving an oil tanker in 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. Charlotte was then raised by her grandmother, Rose Easterly who passed on February 21, 1990. She attended grade school at Pickett School and Libbey High School, majoring in Business. She attended both schools in Toledo, Ohio. Charlotte worked at various employments including Planned Parenthood (Toledo, Ohio), Regency Manor Nursing Home (Columbus, Ohio), where she received a Certificate of Recognition for perfect attendance. She loved working with children and the elderly. Charlotte was outgoing but a quiet person and humble soul. She was a long time volunteer at The American Red Cross from 1991 until her passing. She found God very early in life. She was a member of St. Paul A.M. E. Zion Church in Toledo, Ohio. Charlotte was an active Sunday School teacher and choir member. She relocated to Columbus in 1993 and transferred membership to First A.M.E. Zion Church. She was a member of both Andrew L. Foster Memorial Choir as well as the Praise Team. She loved singing and had a strong Soprano voice. She loved praising The Lord. Her family was the light of her life. She is survived by son, Troy Easterly; granddaughters, Takeysha Easterly, Charlique Whickum, and Destiny Cummingham; grandson, Marquise Anderson; great-granddaughter, Ervaya Washington; life-long friend, Charles Whickum; uncle, Rev. Albert (Helen) Easterly ; and a host of extended relatives and friends.
