David B Groce was born June 2, 1953 to Alexander and Daisy Groce. He attended East High School and graduated from Franklin University with a bachelor's in business in 1980.
He joined the United States Marine Corp, the United States Army and bravely fought in the Vietnam War where he received several medals of honor.
David had a natural talent for tennis and chess and was also an avid fisherman. He loved jazz, comic books, backgammon, video games and was always willing to lend a helping hand, share jokes, and offer words of encouragement with bluntness and honesty.
David was preceded in death by mother Daisy Groce, Father Alexander Groce and 2 brothers Jimmy and Herman Groce.
David leaves to cherish in memory his wife Barbara Groce, daughters, Monica (Brian) Vaughn, Frances Bailey, Kimberly (Markeith) Henderson, Christina Revels, Kyra Harrington, Toyia Ector: Sons David Ector, Sean Adams, stepsons Shawn Dudley, and Edward (Michelle) Dudley, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends that mourn his loss.
