Evelyn J. (Anderson) Ragland

Evelyn Juanita Ragland, age 85, of Columbus went home on September 1st, 2015. Born June 20, 1930 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Lucy and Raymond Anderson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Evelyn retired from the Columbus School of Retardation (23 years) and also retired from ATT (20 years). She loved fishing, hunting, working in the garden, Cincinnati Reds Baseball and spending time loving and laughing with her family. Preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 61 years, Paul R. Ragland Sr; daughter, Rayanna Jean Shipley; and her 8 brothers and sisters. Evelyn is survived by her children, Paul (Patricia) Ragland Jr, Mary Draughon, Juanita Conner, Robert (Linda Brown) Ragland; and Step-daughter, Paulette Peyton. She also leaves her 16 grand children, 13 great grand children as well as 3 sisters, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the chapel at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Services, 720 E. Long Street, where family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Marvin Draper, Officiating. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
