Gloria Meriwether

June 23, 1932 — December 29, 2024

Gloria Dean Meriwether was born on June 23, 1932, and peacefully transitioned in her sleep on December 29, 2024.

Gloria was born in Youngstown, Ohio and spent her early years under the loving care of her grandmother. She moved to Columbus, Ohio in the 1950’s where she found employment at Lockbourne (now Rickenbacker) Airforce Base, also the 423 Laborers Union and later worked for the State of Ohio.

When she wasn’t engaged in the above activities she was playing cards with her life-long friends, which continued until the very end.

Gloria loved to travel, had been to many places including Europe, and had many adventures crossing the United States with her husband in their RV with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandmother, Mary Baker; father, Frank Kelly; mother, Iris Powell; husband Albert Meriwether and son, Robert Robinson.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her son, Darryl (Lynda) Robinson; grandchildren, Corey (Lindsay) Ballenger, Dorlisa (James) Storey, Raisa Robinson, and Darryl Robinson II; great-grandchildren, Teya, Courtney, Corey Jamison, and Dayana; her sister, Gloria Brown; her brother, Jimmy Greggs; nephews, Derrell, Andre and Dwayne Brown; special life-long friend Ellen Rhodes, and a host of other family members and friends.
