Janet Louise Hutchinson, 72, Sunrise August 4, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio and Sunset August 2, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio. Born to parents Orville and Virginia Crampton. She was a graduate of East High School, and attended The Ohio State University. She was an employee of Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC). Janet’s greatest pride and greatest joy was being a loving and nurturing mother to her two children and grandmother to her two grandchildren. Janet was a kind and caring person by nature. This loving kindness extended beyond her family to others she encountered in life. She was passionate about learning and education, and instilled the drive for learning into her family. She was a very open minded person who was not judgmental of others. She was a patient and thoughtful person with a listening ear. She enjoyed reading, and read a wide variety of literature. The subjects she enjoyed included black history, international studies, biblical history, and philosophy of science. She particularly enjoyed authors Paul Robeson and J.A. Rogers who wrote ”World’s Great Men of Color”. One of her favorite books was “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by author Richard Bach. She loved her family and was especially fond of Uncle Arthur. Above all, she cherished being a mom and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Mark T. Hutchinson, daughter, Michelle D. Hutchinson; grandsons, Jalen M. Hutchinson and Isaiah J. Hutchinson; sister Rita Joyce (Harold) Johnson; nieces Asenath Simpson of Cleveland Hts., Oh., Cheryl Johnson; nephew Harold W. Johnson; former husband and friend Luther G. Hutchinson, Jr.; special friend Uffa Autry Schley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
