Joyce Ann “Tootie” (Gilliam) Carter, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was born August 19, 1950 and was a lifetime resident of Columbus where she attended Ephesus 7th Day Adventist Elementary School, Monroe Junior High School, and Columbus Linden McKinley High School. She worked as a Supervisor for the State of Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation until her retirement. Joyce was a former member of the Columbus Flames Motorcycle Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Delphine Gilliam, and brother, Ralph “Brother” Gilliam, Jr. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Yvonne (Chad) Long Obey, Vanetta Long (Toney Madison), and Tina Long (Donald Gore); grandchildren, Perry Long, Dominic Hodge, Marquis Long, Tanisha Long, Ke-Juan (Tisha) Long, Marlysa Long, Johnetta Williams, Chavonne Davis, Marshauna Long, Donovan Brown, and Kevonna Burnette; sister, Linda Gilliam; brother’s, Terrell and Wendell Gilliam; nephews, Wesley (Nina) Gilliam and Kevin Gilliam; godchildren, Tracy Wright, Yvette Spain, and Stephanie Cordell; best friends, Nancy Kelley, John and Betty Bentz, Dixie Fahner, Cheryl Wright, and Isabelle Williams; and 19 great-grandchildren.
