Patricia Loretha Lawrence

Patricia Lawrence was born on March 21, 1954, the youngest child of Thomas and Loretha (Powell) Sims. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, obedient daughter, caring sister and loyal friend to many. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Loretha Sims, mother-in-law, Ozella Lawrence and brother-in-law, Robert Lawrence Jr. She accepted Christ at an early age, joining 12th Avenue Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio. Patricia graduated from Columbus South High School, and The Ohio State University. She worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Nationwide Insurance. Patricia enjoyed sewing, making jelly, collecting “Holiday Barbies,” and designing web pages. Pat and David traveled extensively. She especially enjoyed cruising the Caribbean, and spending time at Myrtle Beach, SC. Patricia was actively involved in youth activities with her children. She participated in the Toastmasters Association while working at Nationwide Insurance. Patricia met her beloved David Lawrence at The Ohio State University. Their romance blossomed during David's tour of duty with the U.S. Army. They wed on September 2, 1978. They enjoyed 32 years of wedded bliss. From their union, loving daughter Tanika, and dedicated son David Edward were born. In addition to her husband and children, she leaves to cherish her memory, father, Tom Sims Sr.; brothers, Thomas (Barbara) Sims of Ormond Beach, Florida and Leon (Saundra) Sims of Detroit, Michigan; sister, Marie (Michael) Allison of Cincinnati, Ohio; father-in-law, Robert Lawrence of Warren , Ohio; sisters-in-law, Sandra Code of Warren, Ohio, Joyce Osby of Columbus, Ohio and Deborah Dawson of Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Johnnie Mae Pugh of Rockledge, Florida, Mattie Edmonds of Hammond, Indiana and Della Powell of East Chicago, Indiana; uncle Leroy (Rosie) Sims of Panama City Beach, Florida, and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
