Randall Dean Johnson went home to his eternal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on October 6, 2011. He was 53 years old. Randy was born to Robert Johnson and Jessie Johnson-Ammons, June 23, 1958 in Lima, Ohio. He attended Mifflin High School, then graduated from the Job Corp. in 1980 where he received a Vocational Career Training Certificate in Industrial/Commercial Painting. He travelled throughout the world using his talents to refurbish Naval Ships before settling in Reading, PA, where he worked as a crane operator for Dana Corporation Steel Plant for 10 years. Randy began a new career working with youth, first at the Reading Children’s Home, then for the Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, PA. In 1992 he moved back to Ohio as a Group Home Manager for the Berea Children’s Home in Warren and Alliance, Ohio. He eventually became a Correctional Officer for the State of Ohio where he worked for over ten years. Randy recently moved to Detroit, Michigan where he worked for Securitas Security Services. Randy is preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson, and his twin brother, Richard Gene Johnson (October 19, 2010). Left to cherish Randy’s memory are: mother, Jessie Johnson-Ammons; daughter, Maya (Sarah) Johnson; brother, Robert Long III; sisters, Delrita Y. (William) Parks II and Lavina L. Johnson (Jason Slaughter); nephews, Kenneth E. Hughes Jr. and Darius Johnson; niece, Carissa Johnson; and a host of family and friends. Randy left this life at peace with God and is now resting in the arms of Jesus Christ. Randy was a faithful member of Faith Clinic Church of God in Christ, Detroit, Michigan. Randy will be missed by all.
