Robert E. Johnson, known to many as Bobb, was born January 12, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from East High School, he joined the United States Navy. Upon discharge, Robert relocated briefly to Detroit, Michigan, where he was employed with General Motors and DDOT, before permanently moving back to Columbus. He retired from the COTA bus company and was a member of Friends from the Hood. Bobb was an avid fisherman, an excellent chef, and a skilled gardener. Along with his passion for fishing, he enjoyed teaching those around him about nature, camping, and cooking. Robert was married to Seriata Johnson and from this union are Tara, Adrianne, Kevin, and Ana. On March 30, 2017, at the age of 76, Robert departed this earthly life while at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ribble and Katherine, sister Juanita Michaels, and grandmother Mary LaGrone. He is survived by his devoted and faithful wife, Seriata Johnson; children, Tara Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Adrianne (Fred) Callahan, Ana Johnson, Deidre Freeman, Cheryl Cochran, and Terry Cochran; sister Mary Williams of Maryland; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including the Williams and Brown families.
