Samuel Clinton Levert was born March 30, 1929 in Cleveland, Oh., where he was the seventh of ten children born to Rev. Clinton and Gertrude Levert. Samuel graduated from East Tech High School where he excelled in track. He later attended OSU until he was drafted into the Army serving in the Korean War as a medic. His many jobs included working in highway inspection and a draftsman for North American. His longest career was with Western Electric. Samuel liked traveling, photography, working with his hands, and going to OSU football games as well as attending Air Shows. On Monday, April 10, 2017, at the age of 87, Samuel went home to glory. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Dollie Mae Levert, Ruth Levert, and Naomi Levert, six brothers, Edward, Sr., Clinton, Jr., Daniel, Ezra, Amos, and David Levert, and one son, Leonard Levert. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Ora (Starks) Levert and his devoted son, Glenn Levert.
