Wanda Davis Brown was born October 2, 1948 in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She departed life temporal in favor of life eternal on April 4, 2014 at the home of her beloved son Daniel W. Davis III. Wanda resided in West Homestead, Pennsylvania where she received her early education. Wanda and her family moved to Akron, Ohio in 1964. She continued her education at Central Howard High School. Wanda married her high school sweet heart Daniel W. Davis Jr. and to this union, one son was born. She worked at Babcock Wilcox in Barberton, Ohio for many years. She later began working for Hawthorn Receiving Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Wanda and her son moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1980 where she was employed by the federal government. She met Allen Brown Sr. while worshipping at a local church and was united in holy matrimony in 1997. She and Allen enjoyed many years of travelling, gardening and working in ministry together. They organized and operated the drug outreach program Project Exodus until Allen’s health began to fail. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2011. Wanda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1976. She was later ordained as a minister and continued her ministry and volunteer work as long as her health would permit. She preached the gospel to all who would listen especially to her family who she prayed would all one day be saved. Wanda never waivered and was quick to say “Oh, I better get my oil out for you!” Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Ada Harper and father, Calvin Harper both of Akron, Ohio. Wanda is survived by one devoted son, Daniel W. Davis III; one grandson, Daniel IV, of Miramar, Florida; two granddaughters, Kennedy and Paige, of Miramar, Florida; five sisters, Geneva (Leon) Camp, of Southfield, Michigan, Calvina Foster, Vanessa Harper and Lynette Harper, of Akron, Ohio; and Regina Farr, of Alexandria, Virginia; one brother, Naibi (Voilet) Sabir, of Akron, Ohio; a “special daughter” Melissa McBride and two “special grandsons” John John and Jordan, of Grove City, Ohio; and well as numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
