Addie Belle O'Neill ("Meme") was born March 17, 1930 in Rome, Georgia. She attended Paine College, in Augusta, Georgia, and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1950. The following year, Addie married Eddie Hammocks O'Neill. Of this union, two sons were born. Addie was employed as an office manager for W.A. Storing List Company, and later served as an office assistant at St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she was also a longtime, faithful member. Some of Addie's personal interests included gardening, art, music, watching television (Family Feud) and traveling to destinations such as San Francisco, California; Chicago, Illinois; Florida and Bermuda. She was an avid bowler, with 25 years experience, and her favorite professional sports teams were the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, and the Cincinnati Reds. On December 17, 2018, at the age of 88, Addie Belle O'Neill was called home to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Addie Mae and Clayton, siblings, Dorothy, Lena, Anna, Laura, Doris and Harris, and aunt Blanche Hammocks. She is survived by her sons, Steve O'Neill and Gary (Sharon) O'Neill; sister Elsie; grandson Dominique O'Neill; granddaughter Danielle O'Neill; special niece Susan (Jimmy) Gardner; daughter-in-law and dear friend, Carole (Dorsey) Birdsall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
