Albert L Hodnett, age 79, a cheerful minister and tender Christ-like child of God, went on to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Al was born the son of Willie B. and Estella Allen Hodnett on February 10, 1934, in LaGrange, GA; he was the youngest of eight children. During the Korean War, he served in the Communications Department of the Army for 2 years. He moved from Georgia to Columbus, OH where he met his first wife, Edna L Dawson Hodnett of 33 years. Together, they started and pastored a church, New Hope Deliverance and Revival Church. For 13 years, through the deliverance ministry, he touched the hearts and lives of multitudes. Even though this marriage resulted in no birth children living, God blessed them to have two daughters. In 1994, the Lord called his first wife home. Al, an ordained minister, became a member and minister of Faith Mission United Holy Church, where through his ministry in word and prayer, he became affectionately known as a Brother-in-Christ, “Uncle Al”, or simply, “Dad.” He remained solely dedicated to the Lord’s work, until 2005 when the Lord greatly blessed him to marry his good friend, fellow minister and current wife, Rosemary Workman Hodnett, whom he had had known for 22 years. Their marriage resulted in him gaining two additional children. Through their union, they started a ministry, Hand Up, which included the giving away of food and clothing and the opening of their home to transitional adults.
