Alberta Malloy Magby

Alberta Magby (nee Malloy) age 88 was called into God’s presence on Thursday April 4, 2019. She was born on July 29, 1930 in Vallscreek, West Virginia; the youngest daughter born to the late Benjamin and Lillie (nee Moore) Malloy. Alberta was formally educated in McDowell County Schools. She was joined in Holy Matrimony on May 5, 1952 to the late Robert Magby; they shared fifty-five years of marriage. Alberta was a devoted wife and confidant. She and her husband were longtime residents of the Dunbar, West Virginia community. Alberta gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was an active member of the Kimberly Church of God In Christ for many years where she served under the Pastorate of the late Elder Willie Brooks, in Kimberly, WV. A self-taught musician Alberta often enjoyed playing her guitar and giving praise to God. Alberta retired from the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company. She returned to the workforce several years later with the Charleston Job Corps Center in Charleston, WV. In 2007 Alberta made Columbus, Ohio her new home with her nephew Elder Harriston Wilson. In Columbus she attended Christian Assembly and later worshipped with Praise Temple COGIC until her health required a higher level of medical care. Alberta remained in Columbus for twelve years. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Magby Jr., Her sisters; Lucille Wilson, Pearl Rhea, Thelma Richards, Beatrice Burrell, and Shirley Hugle. She has no biological children and is survived by a dedicated nephew Elder Harriston (Gayle) Wilson Columbus, Ohio, and nieces Velva (Walter) Chamberlain, Seaondra (Keith) Wade, Charleston, West Virginia, Gwen (Ronald) Ford Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Yolanda Richards, Temple Hills, Maryland, Brenda Okeke, and Linda Summerville, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her devoted adopted family of Elder Murray Piper, DeRidder, Louisiana Members of the Magby Family and many other loving relatives and friends
