Coralethia "Alethia" H. Green, was living in Waverly, Iowa, at the time that she peacefully passed away on August 25, 2021. Alethia was born on December 19, 1919, to Bradford Holiday and Emma (Vaughn) Holiday in Sumter, South Carolina. Both her parents passed away when Alethia was very young. She was foster parented by Dr. Cyril and Carol Walwyn until adulthood. After graduation from Dunbar High School, Washington D.C., in 1937, she pursued a degree in nursing at Tuskegee Institute. Mrs. Green worked 26 years as a Food Services Manager in the Columbus Public Schools. Alethia was passionate about sharing Black history, in particular, the Tuskegee airmen. She was an enthusiastic volunteer most of her life with many organizations serving people in need. In 1943, she met and married William W. Green II in Tuskegee, Alabama. Alethia and William had two sons, William W. Green III and Reginald J. Green. Alethia was preceded in death by her husband; her son, William; her parents; both of her brothers; two sisters; and foster parents. She is survived by her son, Reginald (Kathy); two step granddaughters; and two step great grandchildren.
