Alfred Rucker Hylton II departed this life Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Kobacker House hospice facility in Columbus, Ohio following a bout with heart failure. Alfred was born January 17, 1938 in Lakin, West Virginia. Upon moving to Columbus as a young adult, Alfred was employed by T. Marzetti Company and later spent many years employed by the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) until his retirement in 2000. A consummate sportsman, Alfred enjoyed basketball, football and track and field. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed gardening, wood carving and sharing time with family. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Ella (Hazel) Ely; brother, Fred Hylton; sister, Letishia Brogsdale; sons, Charles (Peg) Hylton of Columbus, Dana (Angela) Belton of Charlotte, NC; daughters Terri (Gerard) Milner of Atlanta, GA., and Roshawna Bouttry of Columbus; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
