Alicia Lawton passed from this life on Saturday November 18, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born to Johnnie Lawton, Jr. and Willease Lawton on December 15, 1958 in Fremont, California, a great birthday gift to her dad whose birthday she shared. Being born into an Army family, Alicia moved many times. The family lived in France, Michigan, Indiana, Georgia, New Jersey and Kansas before settling in Alexandria, Virginia where she graduated from high school. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, class of 1981. There, she was an Art major and a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, Alicia was employed by the federal government (Defense Logistics Agency) first in Los Angeles, California, and then transferring to the DLA office in Columbus, Ohio in 1999. Alicia loved traveling, shopping, her church and doting on her nieces. Her father, Johnnie Jr., and brother, Ronald, preceded her in death. Alicia leaves behind her mother, Willease; brother, Johnnie "Reggie", his wife Lorac, their daughters, Grace and Chloe, and many dear cousins and aunts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association in Alicia’s memory.
