Allen Poole

September 13, 1930 — February 2, 2021

ALLEN POOLE, son of Minnie Moss, was born on Saturday, September 13, 1930, in Douglas, Georgia. This United States Army Veteran served in the Korean War. Following his service to his country, Allen was united in holy matrimony to Helen C. Bennett on October 14, 1951. Brother Poole loved the Lord. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC) in 1959, under the pastorate of Rev. R.T. Gleaves. Allen was an active member of the Usher Board and Pantry Ministry. He was also a proud founding member of the Transportation Ministry. Allen was a retiree of the City of Columbus, Division of Electric, with thirty-five years of service. He also served as custodian for FMBC for over 30 plus years. Allen was a hard worker and a dedicated employee. Blessed with ninety years of life, our beloved Allen Poole was called from labor to eternal rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. In addition to his mother and grandmother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen C. Poole; son, Allan Bernard Poole; and daughter, Angela Poole. Loving memories are cherished by his son, Anthony Poole; daughters, Carole and Alysya Poole; grandchildren, Rashod, Lamont, Cassandra, D’Juan, Lamarr, Nakita, Ayrika, Jalysa, Ashle’, Jaslynne, Phenyx, Jhauntelle, and Mychael; nineteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
