Alma Virginia Mitchell

Alma V. Mitchell January 7,1935 - January 2, 2019 Alma V. Mitchell, 83 was born on January 7, 1935 to Chester A. Weatherly and Dorothy M. Weatherly in Ramer, TN. She was the second oldest of nine children. She went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2019. Alma graduated from McNairy County High School in Selmer, TN, and attended Lane College in Jackson, TN. She relocated to Columbus, OH where she was employed as a nurses aid at Ohio State University Hospital. Soon after she was accepted into nursing school and received her LPN certification. Alma worked at Ohio State University Hospital for 32 years. Alma loved the Lord and was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church for over 30 years. She was active member of the following boards Usher, Trustee, Stewardess, Forever Young Auxiliary and a Sunday School Teacher. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester A. Weatherly and Dorothy M. Weatherly; daughter, Lynn Francis; sisters Kathleen Weatherly, Laculia Weatherly, Anna Bess Weatherly, Trula Ann Weatherly; brothers Ricky Weatherly, and Marcus (Gwen) Weatherly. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Steven (Tamara) Johns; daughter Vicky L. Joe; brothers Chester (Marianne) Weatherly, Jerry (Brenda) Weatherly; grandchildren, Brandi L. Joe, Branden (Kelly) Joe, Lakisha and Alisha Francis, and Taylor and Steven Johns; great-grandchildren, Kennedi Joe, Presley and Emersyn Joe, Zy'on, Zy'vea, and Zaria Francis; a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Alma had many family and friends who loved her and she will be sincerely missed by all.
