Almira Black, 98, was born to Sherman Pounds and Jesse Goode on September 30, 1914 in Nelsonville, Ohio. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Laurels of Norworth Nursing Home, Worthington, Ohio. Almira was employed by The Ohio State University Hospitals to provide care for her husband. She spent her remaining years as a homemaker as well as an encourager of anyone she came in contact with. Almira attended World Harvest Church where she was baptized again at the age of 80 until she was no longer able to travel. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lindsey E. Black; daughter Pauline A. Edwards; son Clarence E. Shaffer. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, brother, Richard Hutchinson, Sr.; grandchildren, John Woody Edwards, Jr. (Terry), Paulette Duffey, Brenda Walker, Dwight Edwards, Regina Edwards, Susan (Carl Sr.) Cousar; 15 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; 2 neices; 1 nephew, and many dear friends. We extend a special thank you to Senior Independence Hospice.
