Aloma Gibbs, age 63, went home to the Lord Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Mt. Carmel-St. Ann’s Medical Center. Aloma was a life long educator and served as an administrator in the Westerville City Schools for over ten years. Before coming to work in Westerville, Aloma was an Educational Consultant at the Ohio Department of Education. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Kent State University, her Master’s degree from the University of Dayton, and her Doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and also attended the Westerville Church of the Nazarene. She was a former member of the Kings Arts Complex Service Board, and numerous other professional, service, and philanthropic organizations. Aloma was a devoted mother and proud cheerleader, supporter and number one fan of her children. She was preceded in death by her father Obed Crutchfield and leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Jack G. Gibbs, Jr.; son, Jack G. Gibbs, III; daughter, Anna L. Gibbs; mother, Corrine L Crutchfield; sister, Johnetta Wade; sister-in-law, Cheryl Gibbs Parker (Augustus); mother-in-law, Ruth A. Gibbs; nieces, Erica Wade, Carissa Wade, Tiffany Hillborg, and Krista Parker; nephews, Augustus Parker IV (LaToya), and Jason Parker; and many other relatives and friends.
