Althea Marie Adams

Althea Marie Adams was born December 21, 1937 to the union of Alfred and Gladys Matthews. She was the oldest of five siblings. She was a graduate of Central High School in Columbus, Ohio.. Althea moved to Clearwater, Florida where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a devoted wife to Richard Nowlin and loving mother to their daughter Valorie. They moved back to Columbus where Richard passed away in 1975. She then met and fell in love with Emanuel Adams. Emanuel Passed away in 2003. Althea was a studier of the Word of God. She loved spending time reading and gaining insight into the scriptures. She was always willing to share with others the many revelations she would receive from her studies. Althea was a supreme seamstress. She could "whip up" a garment in a flash. She also enjoyed baking rolls and “music that makes you move”. She and Emanuel served in ministry at Rhema Christian Center for many years. She was also part of the RAAH Womens' Ministry during the 80's. She then became a member of Trevitt New Life Ministries where she was an intercessor and bible teacher. Althea leaves to cherish her memory daughter Valorie Nowlin as well as others who she loved as her own including Emanuel "Big Boy" Adams Jr., Rita Thomas Rhonda Best and Kevin Adams. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dearest to her heart was Te'Antray Berry whom she raised until she could no longer care for him. Brothers David Matthews, Sr. of Malta, Ohio and Lee Frederick Matthews, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI , sisters Edith Jacqueline (Titus) Patrick of Dayton, Oh., and LaFreida Matthews of Columbus, Oh who so loving took care of Althea during her last days. Althea had a host of many dear friends as well as many nieces and nephews including special niece Anissa (Victor) Patrick of Dayton, Ohio. Althea Marie operated with a no nonsense attitude in all she did. She will be missed for her quick wit and wisdom. She had a love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Rest on Althea, until we meet again.
