Annie C. Brady was born on July 7, 1927 in Star Point, Louisiana to Chester Sloan and Drucilla Britt. Ann was a licensed cosmetologist with her own salon. She later worked at Forum Health Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, from which she retired. She was a dedicated servant at Tabernacle Baptist Church for over fifty years, where she served as a willing worker, usher, choir member and Sunday school teacher. She was also a lifetime member of Youngstown’s NAACP. Ann was a devoted mother and community activist. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Jean Harris; brothers, Joe Sloan, Chester Sloan and Melvin Sloan; and sisters, Ruby Richman, Lottie V. Hall and Lucille Sloan. Annie passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Raymond Isaac Sr.; daughters, Pregetha Brady, Gwendolyn Haire and Regina J. Hubbell; her brother, Elgin Sloan; sisters, Mattie Lee Lincoln and Ruth Wainwright; and a host of other relatives and friends.
