Antonio Demetrius Jenkins, known to many as Tony, was born February 10, 1958 to John J. Jenkins and Evelyn Louise Dowdy Jenkins in Columbus, Ohio. Tony was a 1976 graduate of DeSales High School, where he was the captain of the football team. He then served in the United States Army before embarking on a career in law enforcement. Tony retired from the Columbus (Ohio) Division of Police after 34 years of dedicated service as a police officer. He was also an avid fisherman who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. On June 16, 2017, at the age of 59, Antonio D. Jenkins passed away while at his residence in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Helena Jenkins. Those who remain to cherish memories of Tony include his son Anton Demetrius (Nicole) Jenkins; siblings, Delores Mentor, Rahanni Annika, Jerry Holloman, Nancy Jenkins, Ronald Jenkins, Nate Thornwell, Tonya Reeves, Shaun Davidson, and Victor Jenkins; grandchildren, Antony, Anelise, Nadia, and Naomi Jenkins; stepchildren, Elenora Sanford, Ozella Sanford, Zina Sanford, Larry Payne, Evangelist Helena (Demetrius) Rose, and John Payne; step-grandchildren, Iris Green, Desmond Latham, Paris Mills, Jalani Rose, Genesis Rose, Nasir Ham, Jeremiah Payne, and Malian Thompson; along with a host of other family members and friends.
