Arthur Thomas

Arthur Thomas, age 100, peacefully passed away Friday,June 10,2016. He was born on September 3, 1915 in Coleman Randolph, GA He is preceded in death by parents, Emmett Thomas and Dollie (Brown) Thomas; brother, James Denmock; sons, Willie Arthur Thomas, Charlie Thomas; and his daughter, Mary Ann Black. Upon arriving in Columbus with his family, Arthur found work as a truck driver but soon realized his passion in landscaping with Schmidt Nursery. After retiring, he continued to provide landscaping services around Columbus and in his local Eastgate community. Arthur joined the First Church of God and remained a long-time member until the time of this death. He will be missed by his wife of 75 years Theola (Mathis) Thomas, grandchildren, Kevin L. Black and Marti L. Henry; great-grandchildren, Ashlee B. Waderker Kevin L. Black, Jr., Cameron Black, Christopher U. Black, Ramonie D. Henry and Malore A. Henry, as well as other family members and friends.
