Audre Jean Mixon was born in New York City, NY on November 6, 1932, to the late Richard B. Lynch and Bella Blumberger. She was raised in Youngstown, OH and moved to Columbus, OH at the age of 14. She went on to graduate from North High School in 1950. She was employed by Franklin County; Childrens’ Hospital; and retired from the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. She is preceded in death by parents; stepmother Viola J. Lynch; brother, Dr. Richard D. Lynch; sister Constance A. Jackson; and “special sister”, Patricia Miller. Audre was affectionately called “Mam” by her grandkids and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the Racino and was an avid sports fan. She was a very strong, loving, and positive person, who lifted the spirits of everyone she encountered. She is survived by her loving children: Jodelle, Michele, John B., Jeffrey D. Mixon (Deborah Clardy); stepson John (Miriam) Ellis; former spouse and good friend, John “Bo” Mixon; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews; relatives from Youngstown; special buddy, Ann Warren; lifelong friend, Barbara Black and her beloved friends in the “Hang Loose Gang”.
