Barbara (Nana') Elizabeth Epps daughter of Robert Keeler Sr. and Martha (Hagood) Keeler was born in Mamaroneck, New York on May 21, 1921. With her family by her side, NaNa' peacefully transitioned into eternal rest Sunday, July 3, 2022. NaNa' was preceded in death by her parents Robert Keeler, Sr. and Martha (Keeler) Hagood; brothers, Wesley and Robert Jr. Keeler; and niece, Charlotte Keeler. To cherish her memory Nana' leaves one daughter, Garla (Warren) Green; four grandchildren, Kelly (Steven) Burton, Scott (Della) Williams, Yolanda Tolbert, and Rochelle Tolbert; 11 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Two nieces, Jo Ann Stevens and Mona L. Daniels; one nephew, Wesley Keeler, Jr. and wonderful neighbors and friends. A seamstress at heart, working alongside her father in his Tailor Shop. Nana' ran track, played basketball, and softball. Nana loved all sports and followed all New York professional teams. She also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes. A member of Bethel Baptist Church in White Plains, New York and President of the Missionary Circle and Gospel Choir. NaNa' was employed with New York Bell Telephone Company and was the first colored female engineer at the company. NaNa' trained numerous appointed field representatives. She was an active member of the Pioneers, a charitable organization associated with the telephone company. NaNa' retired from the telephone company after 25 years of service. NaNa' and her mother moved to Columbus, Ohio to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. NaNa' volunteered with the Title I Reading Program through Columbus City Schools for school age children. NaNa' was a dedicated daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend, who will be truly missed.
