Barbara Hill was born November 23, 1926, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a small child, she moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio. Barbara was a graduate of Central High School and retired from The Ohio State University, where she was employed as the Executive Supervisor of Housekeeping. She was also a Past President of N.E.H.A., and served as a Youth Leader at Riverview School for Girls. A dedicated and loyal disciple of Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, Sis. Hill served the Lord and her church family as a member of The Deaconess Ministry and the Senior Missionary Circle. She was a teacher for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Nursery Ministry as well. Deaconess Hill was known for many other gifts and talents which she shared both in her own community and abroad during her numerous travel excursions to various parts of the world. On Saturday, October 12, 2013, while at the Whetstone Gardens Care Center, Deaconess Barbara Hill was called Home to rest peacefully with her Lord and Savior. She was 86. Deaconess Hill was predeceased by father George Hill, mother Ollie M. Arnold, brothers, Horace Hill and Edmond Hill, and nephew Larry Hill. She leaves to cherish her memory, beloved Goddaughter and caregiver, First Lady Shirlean Washington (Pastor Donald J. Washington); sister-in-law Dorothy Hill; a host of nieces and nephews in Columbus, Ohio and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
