Ms. Barbara Irene. Allison was born on February 08, 1944 in Statesville, North Carolina to Hazel and Lizzia Corry Allison. She preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Della Allison, Alese Ware, and Lois Crosby. Also, 3 brothers, John Henry Allison, Earl L. Allison, and Freeman Allison. She attended Unity High School in Statesville North Carolina. By age 15 she gave birth to a baby boy Jerry Allison. At the tender of age of 21 she left Statesville to peruse a new life in Columbus, Ohio. Although, she was a single mother, she did an excellent job raising her son. She was a long time member at Union Grove Baptist church in Columbus, Ohio were she was very active in the community. She spent most of her life doing the Lord’s work. Barbara enjoyed praying, known for shouting, listening to Gospel music, fishing, traveling, and cherishing her family. Everybody knew she loved her hair, clothes, cleaning, and was an excellent cook especially her fried chicken. On Tuesday June 23, 2015 Barbara went on home to be with her Lord. She leaves to cherish her son, Jerry L. Allison. Only survivor and last sibling, Ethel Allison of Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and other relatives and friends including both from Columbus, Ohio and North Carolina. Friends and including special friends her nurse, Robyn Pryor, and the staff at Isabelle Ridgeway Nursing home. Barbara was very dependent on herself. But was very grateful to all those who helped her. She was also known to be a strong-willed and determined soul. Her legacy of generosity and strength will live on through every individual who knew her and loved her. She will be truly be missed by all
