Barbara Jean Andrews, the first of five siblings, was born May 21, 1946 to the late Nathaniel and Nancy Alexander of Jacksonville Florida. But on the eve of November 13, 2013, God called Barbara Jean Andrews away from her sickness, sorry and pain to a place of eternal rest. Barbara and her daughter, Terri, were very close. They talked daily around five a.m. for many years. Terri cared for and was a source of support for her mother. Barbara married the late Cliffton Andrews, II on August 1, 1981. They had two wonderful sons, Kareen and Hakeem. She was very proud of Kareem for taking care of the household in their times of need. Her greatest joy was to see Hakeem graduate from college with a double major and minor. She loved her sons and enjoyed spending time with them. She was extremely proud of them. Barbara had a Master' degree in Social Work and Medicial Transcription. Barbara enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and bingo. She enjoyed going to bingo with her best friend, her confi¬dant and brother, Nathaniel Alexander, III (Nate). Her brother, Nate was the only one who could speak concerning her life and she would listen. She leaves to cherish her loving memory one daughter: Terri McLean (Jeffrey); two sons: Kareem Andrews and Hakeem An¬drews; five grandchildren: Ashlee Alexander, Shanita McLean, Alexander Mclean, Jorden Mclean, and Khaleeq Andrews; two great grandchildren; Delaurion Alexander and Damereon Cook; two sisters: Janice Johnson, Joyce Jackson (Floyd); one brother, Nathaniel Alexander, III (Linda); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
