Beatrice Watts Rakes

Beatrice Watts Rakes, age 87, better known as Mrs. Bea or Sister Rakes, went home to the Lord Friday, June 19, 2015 at her residence. Born November 13, 1927 in Bluefield, WV, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward June Rakes, known as Poor Ed her son, Virgil Rakes; grandson, Howard Rakes; parents, King Virgil Watts and Mary Grace Watts; loving aunt, Annie Martin; and sister, Annelle Norman. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Patricia (Larry) Stephens, Sr.; Walter (Stephanie) Rakes, Youlandia (rest in peace, Dennis) Peake, Edward (Valerie) Rakes, Tyrone (June) Rakes and Hiawatha Rakes; loving siblings, Molly (Bishop Fred) Marshall; and Claudis (Joan) Watts. Known as Granny, Mrs. Rakes leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
