Ben Moss, Jr. entered eternity May 20, 2021. He was born in Wheelwright, Kentucky, to the parents of Ben Moss, Sr. and Genevieve Hunter. Ben was one of 8 siblings, and grew up in Hartwell, West Virginia. At the tender age of 20, Ben's life would change forever, when he met the love of his life Mildred L. Bradshaw (Moss). December 22, 1951 Ben's greatest accomplishment came to fruition when he made the lifelong decision to spend the rest of his days in matrimony. Their family would eventually grow from two to seven. With the increase of responsibilities, his career would then show that he was a man of many trades. Starting at the age of 18, he began working on the coal trucks and later shifted his talents into the coalmines. He then later served in the United States Army, and fought in the Korean War. December of 1953, Sargent Ben Moss, Jr., was honorably discharged and received many awards and medals. As a man that was proud of his family and took the meaning of provider seriously, Ben worked for the City of Columbus, Columbus Steel Pipe Supply, Interstate Motor Freight, and even served as a bricklayer in the construction industry. After 35 plus years on the road, he would later retired as a truck driver. Ben's down time or playtime would be spent fishing and creating life long memories with his family and friends. He was a 32 degree mason of the St. James Masonic Lodge. His smile and passion for life are two of the things that could easily draw people too him and would create lifelong bonds, but more so create a legacy for his children and grandchildren to not only work hard but to enjoy the one life you are given. Preceded in death father, Ben Moss, Sr., Mother, Genevieve Hunter, Wife, Mildred Moss, sons, Michael Moss and Curtis Moss. He leaves behind sons(2), Benny L. Moss and Donald W. (Jayne) Moss; daughter, Karen M. Moss; godson, Charles Mullens; Adopted daughters(2), Marla Sellers and lona Randall; grandchildren(7), Alma, Tony, Mike, Brandon, Ashley, Arley, and Jessica; adopted grandchildren, Janell Randall, Betty Randall, Jay Randall; 7 great-grandchildren; special friend Linda Howard; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
