Bernard Leroy Pullien was born Friday, June 16, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to the union of Jesse L. Pullien and Lucille L. Jones Pullien. He was a graduate of East High School, where he played on the basketball team. Following graduation, Bernard met and married the love of his life and childhood friend, Genelle, and started a family, which he cherished every day. Bernard retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed basketball, football, and boxing. Bernard chose to live a simple life – stress and drama free. Spending quality time with family and friends, including vacationing and cookouts, were activities he enjoyed most. Listening to music, especially Jazz, was also a favorite pastime. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows and collecting model cars. Bernard greeted everyone with kindness, warmth, and a loving attitude. On Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the age of 70, Bernard was called home to rest eternally with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and brothers, Robert Pullien and Jesse Pullien. Bernard leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Genelle Pullien; children, Tia (Brunson) Cooper, TerRonna Moyer, Malaki Gravely, Rasauna (Orlando) Wilborn, and Nira Pullien; grandchildren, Ryan Wilborn, Raven Wilborn, Orlando Wilborn II, Lillian Cooper, and Brunson Dominic Cooper; great grandchildren, Seth Wilborn and Gabriel Hager; sisters, Barbara (James) Jackson, Patricia Pullien, and Teri (Steven) Allen; best friends, Keith Wilson and Ronnie Skinner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
