Bernice Lee Cumberlander was born on February 24, 1922 in Covington, Virginia. Bernice finished school and then moved to Gap Mills, West Virginia where she met and married George D. Triplett. To this union was born one son, Lester V. Triplett. She later relocated to Columbus, Ohio, dedicated her life to Christ and became an active member of the Gay Street Baptist Church. It was there that she met and later married Kincheon L. (K.L.) Cumberlander on November 29, 1950. She remained married to him until his death in June of 1968. Bernice became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Usher Board for many years. She worked for the Columbus Public School System as a school bus driver until her retirement. Bernice was always on the go. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends, and she enjoyed cooking up a storm. Bernice is survived by her loving son, Lester V. Triplett; stepchildren, Daphne, Jerry, Eugene, and Darryl Triplett, and Sheila (Fred) Robinson; grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. Bernice lead a blessed life of 94 years and went home to glory on October 8, 2016.
