Betty Broadus Darling, 85, passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 17, 2017. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 13, 1931 to John and Mabel (McGinnis) Broadus. Due to her mother passing away when Betty was six-years-old, her aunt Gertrude (Baby-Sis) Broadus Kirk helped to raise her and her sister. Betty was baptized and raised in the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith and later joined and raised her children at The Macedonia Baptist Church where she was re-baptized in 1965. As an active member, she sang in the Macedonia Chancel Choir and was devoted to studying more about our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She regularly attended church until her illness prevented her presence. Betty, along with her sister Lucille Burks, was talented at designing and making clothes for family and friends. She loved family trips and activities with her grandchildren. In addition she was compassionate about helping her friends and others. Everyone enjoyed her baked goods especially homemade fudge, her special German Chocolate cake and delicious lemon meringue pie. Although your work on earth is complete, your joy and lessons will always live deeply in our hearts. It comforts us to know you are re-joined with our Lord and your mother who has missed you for so many years. The bright light that you started will live on through those that have been touched by your smile and grace.
