Betty Jo (Patterson) Tatum

Betty J. Patterson Tatum, born April 4, 1947 in Rockingham, N.C. transcended to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2012 surrounded by family and loved ones. Betty retired from Columbus Public Schools after 22 years. She was a faithful member of Restoration Christian Center, where she served on the Board of Directors, Greater Pastors Partner, Greeting, and Special Helps Ministries for many years. Betty is predeceased by father and mother, Augusta and Ruth Patterson; brother, Edward Patterson; sisters, Dorothy Patterson, Hattie Wright, and Lilia Patterson. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ervin Tatum; sons, Marvin E. Stanback and William M. Covington; daughter, Elizabeth A. Stanback; step-sons, Willie B. Tatum, Robert (Helen) Tatum, and Floyd Tatum; step-daughter, Lapina Tatum; grandson, Kenneth B. Stanback; brother, Augusta Patterson Jr. ; sisters, Mildred Patterson, Margie Wormley, all of Columbus, OH, Sarah E. Bostick, of Rockingham, N.C. and Opal D. (Frank) Parson, of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Gertrude Ellerbe; uncles, Alexander (Sally) Patterson, of Rockingham, N.C., Lester (Gloria) Broadie, of Columbus, OH and a host of other relatives and friends.
