Betty Jones

Betty R. Jones, age 88. Sunrise September 1, 1934. Sunset August 29, 2023. She was a faithful Christian and church member, serving as a deaconess until her health issues restricted her mobility. She was a devoted wife of 62 years, mother, grandmother, sister, devoted aunt and friend.  She is preceeded in death by her parents Paul Chick and Emzie Henderson, husband John H. Jones, brother Willie Henderson, sister Thelma Missouri and (brother in law) James H. Missouri. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children; sons; Melvin Jones, and Jesse Jones; daughter Theresa Jones, grandchildren; Nicholas Jones and Amel Jones, sister in law; Sallie Walker (Baltimore, Md), nieces; Regina Shortt, Diana Missouri, Denise Missouri and Gemell Missouri Harden all of Columbus. Betty will also be remembered by a host of great nieces and great nephews she adored, best friend Doris Shields (sons; Stuart Shields (wife Beverly) and Lance Shields) and neighbors.  A private viewing and services are reserved for immediate family members and invited guest.
