Blyden W. Shanklin was born to Marlene (Kelley) Bullock and Murten Shanklin, October 24, 1971, at Chicago Lying-In Hospital in Chicago, Ill. As the youngest of 4 children, Blyden was nothing short of inquisitive and lively. Blyden loved going places as a kid and never met a stranger. He would strike up conversations with people wherever he was, at every chance he could get. Blyden and his family would relocate to Columbus, Ohio, where he would reside until his passing on March 14, 2023.
Blyden, also known as Bud, was always on the go and tried to stay busy as an entrepreneur. He loved exploring new opportunities, from his lawn care business and transportation services. He cared deeply for people, and though he might not have always shown it, Bud always tried to reassure his loved ones that he was only a call away if they ever needed help with anything.
Blyden would spend his later years caring for his mother while also dealing with his healthcare issues and battles in life. Blyden’s personality was larger than life. He loved to BBQ and cook for family gatherings. He always talked about getting an RV and traveling to visit family and view all the sites on the open road.
