Bobby Lee Hughes, affectionately known as “Paw Paw”, was the first born child of Oscar Lee and Lucille Hughes of Cedar Town, Georgia. Before finishing high school, he moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he gained a substantial commitment and career to the city of Columbus as a Refuse Collector; retiring after thirty years of service. He also did a number of odd jobs for the elderly, in accordance to help support the love of his life, Nina Mae Hughes (deceased), his lovely three children, Lisa (deceased), Jennifer, and Robert Hughes; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Hughes) Simms, Nina Hughes, Cierra Hughes, Tiffany and Taylor Hughes, Jasmine Beckles and Aliyah Hughes; along with eight great grandkids. Bobby’s first love is God, being that he lived righteously, with great morals and character. He embodied a man of great excellence, faithfulness and loyalty, by being devoted to his family and his wife of forty years. During troubled times, he would be so generous to help his family and neighbors with any needs, even before himself. He cherished spending quality time with his family; he also enjoyed singing and eating Nina Mae’s home cooking. You could always find him reminiscing and telling stories about good times, and making people laugh. His heart of gold will be cherished forever and ever.
