Bonita Louise Finch-Talley (affectionately known as Bonnie) went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2019, at the age of 71. Her devotion to her family and friends, as well as her firm belief in God, supported her on her journey and ultimately gave her peace. Bonnie was born on June 9, 1947, to the late John Lewis Finch and the late Mary (Jones) Finch in Columbus, Ohio. To this union, Bonnie was the first born of five children and the half-sister of another sister and brother. She was not only the mother of her only beloved daughter, Teresa Wright, but she has affectionately been in the role of mother and grandmother to many. Bonnie received “The Mother of the Year Award” in 2016 by her Restoration Christian Center Church family. Bonnie was a very dedicated, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. As a proud and dedicated grandmother, she was excited about taking her family to Disney World. Some of Bonnie’s hobbies and special interest include bowling, watching football and basketball, playing Solitaire and attending her grandchildren’s functions. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. Bonnie attended Columbus City Schools and she was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1965. Bonnie began her gainful employment with Ohio Bell. After leaving Ohio Bell, she was employed# by Kroger for more than 20 years. She was the first African-American Cashier hired at the 12th Avenue Kroger Store. After she retired from Kroger, she then started a second career as the Branch Office Assistant for Dial America Marketing for more than 20 years where she retired in May, 2013. Bonnie was a woman who walked by faith, constantly spreading love and cheer to all of those she encountered. She was a loyal member of Restoration Christian Center for 30 plus years. She served faithfully in Ordinance Ministry including communion and baptisms, Special Care, Choir, Board of Directors and any other area when needed. She was preceded in death by her parents John Lewis Finch and Mary (Jones) Finch, Sister, Mary Carolyn Finch; Sister, Patricia Guillory; Brothers Timothy “Butch” Finch and Michael Finch; Special Friend, Oather Talley; Best Friend, Betty Tatum. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted daughter, Teresa (Gary, Jr.) Wright; Brother, Tracy (Carletta) Finch; Phyllis Finch; Grandchildren, Mikayla Wright, Keeley Wright, and Maya Wright as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her entire church family.
