Brenda Jean Bryant

Brenda Jean Bryant was born to Robert and Jessie (McAfee) Bryant on September 26, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. Early in life Brenda was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church. A 1967 graduate of East High School, she received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Art Education from Central State University (Wilberforce, OH) in 1973. She also earned an AAS degree in Engineering Drafting, with a Mechanical Engineering emphasis, from St. Louis Community College-Forest Park (1985), where she worked for about twelve years. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton in 2010. Brenda was an art teacher and more recently a school guidance counselor for the Columbus City Schools. On Friday, November 24, 2017, at the age of 68, Brenda unexpectedly departed her earthly life while at home in her Columbus residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bryant, and grandparents, Louis and Veronis McAfee, and Arnetta Bryant. Those who remain to cherish memories of Brenda include her mother Jessie Bryant; brothers, William (Carol) Bryant and Charles Bryant, Sr. (Veronica); sister Robin Bryant; nephew whom she raised, Miguel Bryant; former husband Leroy McCoy; and a host of aunts, uncle, cousins, other family and very close friends.
