Brenda Vick

Brenda Joyce Vick was born April 23, 1941 to the late Truman and Victoria Vick in Hartford, Kentucky. She departed this life on September 17, 2023.

In 1945 the family moved to Columbus, Ohio. Brenda began her education at Mount Vernon Elementary, continued her education at Champion Junior High School, and went on to become a graduate of Columbus Easst High School. After graduation she began employment at St. Ann's Hospital. While employed there, she was offered a position with the State of Ohio with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She voluntarily chose to retire from the Bureau after 30 years of service, in order to become a caregiver to her father. Brenda was also a caregiver as required for sisters Trudy and Rosie.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Lucas of The Community Church of Christ. Brenda was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years.

Brenda was a kind and compassionate person. She always had a smile on her face. She loved her family, she loved life, and she was an avid bowler. After the passing of her younger sister Trudy, she took on the role of parenting her sisters children.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Truman and Victoria Vick, sisters Rosie Jemison and Trudy Mack. She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Craig Vick (Mary) of Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma, niece Victoria Mack, nephew Chester Friday, great nieces Taylor Friday and Dynasty Mack, great nephews De Michael Berry and Da Mir Smith, one great-great niece, Addilyn Ratcliff, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with Funeral Services immediately following. Burial will follow in procession to East Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
