Bruce Wayne Rose, age 73, of Columbus, OH, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 6, 2015 at Grant Hospital from Diabetes Complications . Bruce was born January 18, 1942 in Xenia, OH to Donald and Anna (Thornton) Rose. Bruce was raised in Xenia, went to school and graduated from Xenia High School in 1960, entered and served in the Armed Forces (Army) from 1960-1962. He later attended Central State University and graduated in 1978 with a BA Degree. Bruce entered the work force and was employed at the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio working as an Acquisition Specialist. After his long battle with Diabetes, Bruce was forced to retire after 22 years of service retiring in 2006. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Stanley and Berth (Lomax) Rose; maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary (Nared) Thornton; nephews, Juan J. and Juan M. Rose. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Blythe L. (McHanny) Rose; three daughters, Pam (Donald)Jones, of Columbus, OH, Rhonda Estridge of Columbus, OH, and Erica Wilson of Urbana, OH; two sons, Dion (Claudine) Wilson, of Miami, FL and Thomas (Angie) Wilson of Bellefontaine, OH; three brothers, Juan Rose of Columbus, OH, Terry (Beverly)Rose of Delaware, OH and Gregory (Ruby)Rose of Xenia, OH; one sister, Carol (Rose) Hardin of Fairborn, OH; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a special uncle, Donald Ewing of Xenia, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends; special friends, Doug Norris, Richard Porter, and Calvin Hudson; and two loving pets, Simba and Dominic. Bruce loved visiting and being around his family celebrating life, he also enjoyed to travel until his illness prohibited him from doing so. Bruce was an avid pool player; he loved fashion, dressing, and color coordinating all of his clothing which included casual wear, dress suits, shirts, shoes, and hats; he also loved his cars. He loved sitting on his porch watching the world go by as he interacted with family, friends, and neighbors. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the chapel at DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St., where family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
