Calvin Tate, born October 28, 1954 in Washington, D.C. to the late Evelyn Frances Smith and William Tate, a new angle, he has risen to the occasion to be with our mother and his Lord Savior, on June 18, 2014, at the Wexner Heritage House, a few hours after the sun had descended. A member of Asbury North United Methodist Church, he served as an active greeter, until he could no longer serve the lord further, due to his illness. Preceded in death by parent’s Evelyn Frances Smith (mother), William Tate, (father), John H. Smith (stepfather) and William Lewis Tate, Jr. (brother). Calvin was a kind, pleasant, loving soul cherished and loved by all in which he crossed paths, he received love and always gave great love in return. He will always be greatly missed and the fondest of special memories, will be held by sister, Lana Kay Darby, niece, Natasia Nicole Davenport, a host of loving family member’s and church family Asbury North United Methodist Church. Calvin was employed at ARC Industries for many decades, he loved his job, and continued going to work every day despite his illness and being wheelchair bound. Calvin was able to accomplish this task with the assistance of many staff members at Shalom House where he first resided until his illness progressed; he then transitioned to Wexner Heritage House where he took his final breath. His light will always remain a part of us.
