Carl Hicks Sr

Carl Gene Hicks, Sr. was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 8, 1932 to the union of Julius and Ruth Hicks. He grew up in the Hilltop area and was a member of the Hilltop Wild Cats Club. Employed by The Columbus Dispatch Printing Company from 1955 to 1995, Carl dearly loved his time and employment. He was a valued employee as well as a great coworker. After retirement, he worked for the Ohio Auto Auction until the time of his illness. Carl departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2011. His parents and brother, Walter Hicks, preceded Carl in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Sandra A. Hicks; children, Carl (Donna) Hicks, Robin Hicks (Lloyd) Merchant, David (Debra) Kendricks, Terry Wallace, Terron (Toya) Wallace, and Ima (Shawn) Head; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Home Going Service 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until start of service.
