Carnell Shepard, 72, passed away peacefully at his Columbus residence on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. He was born May 14, 1939 to Zeke and Ophelia Shepard in Bowden, Georgia. A resident of Columbus for more than fifty years, Carnell was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Cota for ten years and was a manager at Sears for thirty-five years. Fondly known by the nickname Shep, he enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes play. Preceded in death by both parents, Carnell leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years, Ronda Shepard; children, Carnell Shepard, Jr., Shala, Quan Bush, and Shannon Bush; sister Darlene Golden; brother Welborn (Charma) Shepard; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
