Carole Anita Pope

December 23, 1945 — January 6, 2022

Carole Anita Pope, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord January 6, 2022. Carole, born December 23, 1945, was the youngest daughter of George and Sarah Bethel. Carole was preceded in death by parents George Bethel, Sarah Bethel, and brother William Bethel. Carole from East High School where she was the head majorette of the East High School marching band. She retired from United States Postal Service after 45 years of service. Carole continued to provide service to visitors at Carmel St. Ann’s until she went home to be with the Lord. Carole began her Christian life at Shiloh Baptist Church. Carole received the Holy Ghost in 1983 and continued her walk with God in various organizations at The Body of Christ and All Nations. Carole’ s last Christian home was with AGAPE Family Worship Center, under the discipleship and leadership of pastor Yolanda Tolliver. Carole grew in the service of God’s work and became a licensed minister, Bible school teacher, the church treasurer and a church board member. Carole’s pastor quoted, “She was Agape”! Carole is best remembered for the passion she had for her entire family and church family. There is nothing that she would not do to help the ones she loved. Carole is survived by her loving son Dwayne Pope; grandchildren, Tamika Nallie (Ron), Chadd Pope and Rebekah Pope; 6 great-grandchildren; loving sister, Lois Leon; brother, Charles Bethel (Carolyn); 2 special nieces, Knaika Bethel and Kedada Thompkins (Lorenzo), loving nephew, Emile Leon III (Theresa); church family; friends; and special friends, Marie Hill, Marcialene Slate, Barbara Washington, and Rallie Randolph.
