Carole E. Lewis

Carole Elizebeth Lewis affectionately known to her grandchildren as Granny-Granny was born on June 28,1931 to Pauline and Harold Williams. Blessed with 84 years of life she was peacefully called home by her Heavenly Father on April 14, 2016 at her residence. Carole was born in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from East High School. She loved the Lord and always said when I wake up in the morning I talk to the Lord before I talk to man. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She married John T. Tucker and had three loving daughters Pam Wright, Paula Pruitt and Patty Tucker. She later married William Bill Lewis then moved to Chicago, Illinois. She retired from Ohio Bell after 40 years of service. Upon retirement she moved back to Columbus to be closer to her family. She was known for her jazzy style, loving ways and making sure that her family had a foundation in the Lord. She was preceded in death by mother Pauline Williams, father Harold Williams, husbands Bill Lewis, John Tucker and daughter Paula Pruitt. Carole was the last living Williams and is now celebrating with her sisters Mary Katherine Williams, Genieve Williams, Evelyn Williams, twin sisters Doris Williams and Lois Frazier, Dorothy Moss, Betty Strain, Jean Covington and Joyce Ross, and brothers Harold Buddy Williams and Raymond Williams. Carrying on her memories are her daughters Pam (Gary) Wright and Patty Tucker, grandchildren Gary (Terri) Wright, Webster Jr. (Lorvina) Pruitt, Rache (Marcus) Cunningham, TyKiah Wright and Marcus Pruitt; great-grandchildren Davont'e Pruitt, TreVon Cunningham, DeJah Cunningham, Webster Pruitt III, Mikayla Wright, Keeley Wright, DeShawn Cunningham, Maya Wright, Tanasia Cunningham, Nazlha Pruitt, Jeremiah Pruitt, Shenee Cunningham and CheAna Cunningham; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Carole will be missed by her family but we take comfort in knowing that she was simply ready to go home. l
